Kelcie is so proud of herself, and so are we. This semester of Jr. High, she is in a "Career Tech" (used to be home ec) class. Sewing is right up her alley...as well as all the cooking-eating she is participating in. She has made hot pads and other small items. This little apron is her work. She is taking great pride in seeing the work of her hands. That truly is the best feeling!

That is terrific -- I love to see the pride of accomplishment in the faces of my kids (particularly my oldest).
Incidentally, I took a class in the 8th grade that they called "Survival Skills" in order to get boys to sign up.
Yeah, it was Home Ec.
Excellent job, Kelcie!
Keep it up and you look great!
That is awesome! She looks so proud of herself as she should be! :-) It looks great!
Wow--she did a great job! Can't say Home-Ec was my best subject. I had to come in early every day for a month to finish a bag I was trying to make. Sewing just isn't my thing. Yes, we have a machine--but it is my husband's, not mine! How sad is that. Good job Kelcie!

I found the candy ipod idea on Kari Sweeten's blog "U Create" under the Valentine category. Here is the link to her blog: kari-youcanmakeit.blogspot.com/
She has a link to a site where you can print out the ipod dial and playlist or type in your own playlist songs and print it. Kinda fun. Glad you liked it...

Well congrats to her. When I was in sewing class I didnt like it at all.I love crocheting and needlepoint but sewing for the birds LOL.Im glad someone is talented like kelcie.Have a nice weekend Kelcie!
This just may be something she will love doing from now on. Maybe she could take sewing classes and make all kinds of projects!! I loved sewing in Home ec and learned all the basics that have helped me make everything from shorts, to costumes for my kids and drapes and even scrapbooking. It's a great skill to have. Good job Kelcie...keep it up!
She's so stinking cute!
she's a beauty. she should be proud! that is quite advanced! my son made a drawstring backpack in home ec and accidentally sewed the whole thing shut. we won't even discuss the pair of "mittens" he made for me.
oh and yes, you can get high from lack of sleep.
Wow..she did an amazing job! What a cutie she is!
look at her - that is fantastic!
Looks like she did a wonderful job. How much more we appreciate the things we make ourselves.
I saw her handiwork while I was there and think I will frame this picture!! She did such a great job on it, and looks adorable in it!! I am proud of her, and hope she continues to enjoy sewing. Love you!!
Oh that is awesome. I sense the next Rachel Ray in the making! Only cuter and less annoying. :)
Wow, they still offer home ec in your neck of the woods? That is not offered at my daughters middle school.
Way cool apron! I don't think I ever made anything worth wearing. :)
That looks great. I LOVE aprons. Tell her she did a great job.
(We have totally had the guck around here and Travis has had it the worst, but I'm really hoping he will get over it soon, so we can have you guys over for our Family night. I'm excited for Thurs.! )
